Be prepared, there's loads....
Watch the millionaires!
Drool over billionaires' yachts and watch the rich go by at one of the many sea front cafés in St Tropez, Monaco, Cannes and Nice.
Act like a millionaire!
Sip champagne at Monte Carlo's Hotel de Paris
Be an archeologist:
Explore Roman remains and uncover long-lost treasure in Fréjus.
Enjoy a day of culture:
Visit the art galleries of Matisse and Chagall in Nice, Renoir in Cagnes-sur-Mer, Jean-Cocteau in Menton and, of course, Picasso in Antibes.
Go and play with the locals!
Everywhere along the Cote d'Azur, in the towns and among the huddled alleys of hilltop villages, locals relax over a game of pétanque (French boules). Maybe join in?
Exercise your taste buds!
Experience the delights of chestnut jam in Collobrières.
Exercise your nose!
Smell perfumes in Grasse
Be Steve Redgrave:
Go rowing on St Cassien's lake.
Be a Caveman (or Cavewoman, or Caveperson):
Unearth caves of red stalagmites and stalactites in St Cézaire and inhabited caves with mullioned windows in Villecroze.
Get away from it all!
The Esterel hills with their maquis (scrub) patchwork and the craggy Massif des Maures, forested with pine and cork oaks, extend behind the coastline. Take in the glorious quiet of the St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula and spy Birds of Paradise at the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. The Sentiers des Douaniers around Antibes and Cap d'Ail offers heart-pumping coastal views!
Adventure time!
Dodge waterfalls and see cliff-tops rush by as you canyon down the Gorges du Loup, allowing the fast-flowing rivers to carry you along. Cycle up and down back-country hills or enjoy aerial views on a helicopter ride from Nice airport to Monaco. Go pot-holing outside Grasse or parachuting over the Mediterranean in Cagnes-sur-Mer.
Skiing anyone?
There are several ski fields easily accessible from Antibes. Greolières-les-Neiges is a small resort just 27kms north of Grasse. Auron (90kms from Nice) and Isola 2000 (100kms north of Nice) are the most popular, and at only a 90 minute drive away, they make an excellent day trip.
How about some golf?
There are many fabulous golf courses along the Cote d'Azur, the closest probably being the Golf Club of Biot (4,511 m, par 67) This is one of the Cote d'Azur's oldest courses. "The fairways gently succeed each other, with calm and untroubled play to look forward to. A pleasant golfing experience for all players. Without many difficulties, you will find here a course full of rustic and romantic charm" Doesn't that sound nice after all that waterfall-dodging, pot-holing and parachuting?
Eat, eat, eat!
You'll be very hungry after all those activities and you'll need refuelling for the shopping that comes next! Treat your taste buds to some "socca" (chick-pea crêpes) at Antibes market, and try to find courgette-flower fritters and bouillabaisse (fish stew).
Spend, spend, spend!
Buy pottery from Vallauris, glassware from Biot and perfumed soaps from Grasse. Choose your favourite painting from St-Paul-de-Vence, olive oil from open-air markets or a yacht from St Tropez. And find time for the fabulous Cap 3000 shopping centre in Saint Laurent du Var with its huge Galeries Lafayette department store and fabulous Food Hall. Park up in the free, open-air car park or take the train from Antibes to Saint Laurent du Var.
Nightlife (if you still have the energy!)
The young and trendy go to beachside bars for mojitos (rum, mint and lime cocktails) along the Cote d‘Azur. Join clubbers in nightclubs along Larvotto Beach in Monte Carlo and international celebrities in portside bars in St Tropez. Pretty young things flock to Cannes' Rue des Frères Pradignac and the yachting crowd sail into Antibes.
