about antibes

Situated between Nice and Cannes and 13 kms from Nice Cote d'Azur International Airport, Antibes possesses one of the most stunning coastlines in France.

Antibes is a wonderful town to explore with its beautiful ancient squares, mediaeval streets, old provençal houses and ancient pine trees. It boasts many fascinating museums, including the Picasso Museum which houses several of the artist's works together with work and sculptures by many other important artists of the 20th century.

In the heart of Antibes is the bustling market that takes place every day (except Mondays) in the Cours Masséna. Here you will find fabulous displays of meats, fish, cheese, olives, fruit, vegetables and wines, with sellers eager for you to sample their wares!  On each side of the market and in the immediate surrounding area are several excellent shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. Just behind the market, Antibes's cathedral is the setting for many outdoor concerts during the summer months. Place Nationale is a lovely square sheltered by plane trees that comes to life in the summer when all the restaurants spill out into the middle of the square. It's also the setting for an antiques market every Saturday.

Antibes features both standard French and international cuisine as well as local specialities focusing on fresh seafood and produce from Provence. Busy, bustling restaurants can be found around the port of Antibes, in the old town, and in nearby Juan les Pins.
